Heidi Klum is doing it again. The supermodel, known as the Queen of Halloween, has shared a close-up teaser of her 2026 Halloween costume — and it looks slimy, strange, and, in her own words, “very, very bloody.”
Her 25th annual Halloween party takes place in New York City on Saturday, 31 October. Until then, fans have only a few blurry clues to work with, and the guessing game is in full swing.
What has she shown so far?
Klum shared the first teaser on Instagram last weekend: a close-up photo of what looks like a mass of pale, wet, organic-looking prosthetics. There was no face, no outfit, and no clear shape — just texture that reminded fans of organs, tentacles, and something pulled from deep underwater.
“What’s my costume? One week to go…,” she wrote in the caption, adding a string of Halloween emojis: a magnifying glass, a ghost, a pumpkin, a blood drop, a bat, and a spider web.
Then, on Thursday, 29 October, she shared a second clue: a behind-the-scenes Reel showing a costume taking shape in a workshop. A blue mannequin stands covered in a cream-coloured material shaped around the body, and a large black metal frame with brown straps is brought into view. “Next clue loading…. 2 more days until all is revealed,” she wrote.
She has also shared Instagram Stories footage of herself browsing a fabric store for materials, building the sense that this year’s look is being put together piece by piece in front of her followers.

“It goes very well with red wine”
The biggest clue came weeks before the photos. In an interview with People magazine in September, Klum said of this year’s costume: “It goes very well with red wine. It’s very, very bloody.”
She went further, linking the look to a wine partnership. “A great glass of wine is always fun… and most of the time you think of something gory when you have a blood transfusion bag,” she said. “That’s what Halloween is all about. We go gory, and we go there.”
The comment ties in with her team-up with Apothic Wine on a limited-edition Apothic Type ‘A’ Blood Bags collection — wine served in bags designed to look like blood transfusion bags.
What are fans guessing?
The comments under her teaser posts have turned into a guessing game, and the theories are all over the place:
- A mushroom zombie from The Last of Us — the pale, lumpy texture reminded several fans of the show’s infected.
- Demi Moore’s character in The Substance — the body-horror film was one of the most popular guesses after the first teaser.
- A coral reef or sea creature — some fans saw something underwater in the shapes.
- An alien or creature of her own invention — Klum has done original creatures before, so many fans expect something no one can name.
Klum has not confirmed any of the guesses. She has only said she “can’t say too much” about the costume — which, for her, is part of the fun.

A very different kind of preparation
Klum takes the build-up as seriously as the costume itself. She has talked before about how hard the prosthetics can be to wear: once she is in costume, she often cannot eat or drink for hours.
“I try to hydrate during the day, because once I go into costume — or usually two, three hours before — I just won’t drink anything,” she told People. “Especially if it’s like the worm or something I can’t take off… all the drinking has to be done before.”
Last year, she arrived as Medusa, with green scales, a rattlesnake tail, and animatronic snakes for hair. She later said she had to ask for the snakes to be taken off so she could enjoy the party. The year before that, she became a giant worm, and she has also appeared as a peacock and as E.T. in past years.
The party is tomorrow night
Klum has hosted her own Halloween party every year since 2000, and it has become one of the most watched nights on the celebrity calendar. This year’s bash, her 25th, takes place on 31 October in New York City.
The night before, on Thursday, 29 October, she was already in party mode. She celebrated the third anniversary of her New York restaurant, Crazy Pizza, joined by three of her children — Leni, 22, Henry, 21, and Johan, 19 — along with guests including Sofia Vergara, Kyle MacLachlan, and Taylor Momsen.
With two days to go at the time of her latest clue, the reveal is now hours away. The costume itself will be shown at the party on Saturday night, and the photos will be everywhere within minutes.
Until then, the mystery is the point. Klum has spent a week dropping clues that give almost nothing away — and that is exactly why people keep looking. For more on this year’s celebrity looks, see our round-up of the best celebrity Halloween costumes of 2026 so far.
